Beamin Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Beamin apps for Android and iOS, to the Beamin web app and to the service behind them, published by Perlicom Systems Limited, a company registered in Ireland under company number 546999 ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Beamin you agree to them. How data is handled is explained in the Beamin Privacy Policy.
1. Who may use Beamin
You must be 18 or over to create an account. If you use Beamin for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and "you" means both you and that organisation.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google. Keep that account secure — anyone who can use it can join your meetings and read your messages and recordings. Tell us at support@perlicom.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; what that removes is set out in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or where the law requires it.
3. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Beamin on devices you own or control and to use the service in line with these terms and, where you installed the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app or the service, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
4. Meetings, and the people in them
- As a host you decide who is invited and who is admitted from the waiting room, and you can mute, remove or block a participant. Use those controls: you are responsible for who is in your meeting.
- A meeting link or a meeting password lets anyone who has it in, subject to the waiting room. Share them only with the people you mean to invite.
- Do not use Beamin to harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate anyone, to share unlawful or infringing material, to share sexual content involving minors or non-consensual sexual content, to send spam, or to break the law where you or the other participants are.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the service, to overload it, to access another user's account or meeting, or to get around a restriction in the app.
5. Recording, transcripts and consent
Beamin records a meeting only when a participant starts a recording, and dictation posts what you say into the meeting's shared transcript, which other participants can see.
Recording other people is your responsibility. In many countries it is unlawful to record a conversation without telling the other people or obtaining their consent. If you record or transcribe a meeting, you must have a lawful basis for doing so and must comply with the law that applies to you and to the other participants. You are also responsible for anything you then do with the recording, including any link you create to share it — anyone with that link can watch it. We may remove content that is unlawful or that breaches these terms, and we may suspend an account used to record people unlawfully.
6. Your content
What you say, show, write, upload or record stays yours. To run the service you grant us a licence to host, store, transmit and display that content to the people you share it with, and to make the technical copies needed to deliver it. We do not use your meetings, messages or recordings for advertising, and we do not use them to train artificial-intelligence models.
7. Free plan and advertising
The free plan is supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob: a banner in the app's main screens and, occasionally, a full-screen ad at a natural break after a meeting has ended, as described in the Privacy Policy. No ad is shown during a meeting, over your video, over a screen share or over a payment. Nothing from your meetings, messages or recordings is shared with an advertiser. Paid plans carry no advertising.
8. Subscriptions and payment
- Beamin Pro and Beamin Business are auto-renewing subscriptions. In the Android app they are sold through Google Play at the price and period shown before you confirm.
- They renew at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel in Google Play (Play Store > your profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions), not in the app; uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and the plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Prices shown in the store may exclude tax; the amount Google charges you includes any tax that applies where you live.
- Refunds for a Google Play purchase are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy. You can also e-mail support@perlicom.com and we will help.
- Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right to withdraw from a purchase under EU consumer law.
- If a subscription ends, your account returns to the free plan: ads return, paid-only features stop, and any limit on the free plan applies again.
9. Availability and changes
Beamin is an online service. It needs a working internet connection, it depends on your device and network, and it can be interrupted, slowed or temporarily unavailable. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update the app and change, add or remove features to fix problems, improve the service or meet legal and store requirements. Where a change materially reduces something you have already paid for, we will give notice in the app first.
If we ever discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to save your recordings.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows: the app and the service are provided "as is" and "as available"; we exclude implied warranties; and we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss, including loss arising from a meeting that could not be held, a recording that was not made or was lost, or content shared by another participant. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Beamin in that period, or €100 where you paid nothing.
11. Ending these terms
You may stop using Beamin at any time by cancelling any subscription in Google Play, deleting your account and uninstalling the app. We may end or suspend your licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 5, 6, 10 and 12 survive the end of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in and may bring proceedings there.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app, the service or the law changes, and will change the effective date above. Continuing to use Beamin after a change means you accept the updated terms.
